SARTELL - Brainerd's season came to a close after Becker eliminated the Warriors 7-0 in Tuesday's Section 8-2A team semifinals.
Brainerd won just two sets, both coming in doubles. The No. 2 doubles team of Cole Kalenberg-Happy Rivard fell 6-7 (6-8), 6-3, 6-4.
Brady Mick-Garrett Goeden also won their first set 2-6, but dropped the next two sets 6-1, 7-6 (7-5).
"We had a good year and did a lot of good things," said Brainerd head coach Bruce Thompson. "We didn't compete as well as we would have liked maybe, but we had some good matches at two and three doubles and No. 3 singles.
"Everyone across the board played hard. Our No. 1 singles guy had a good match. It was a ninth grader against a senior and that Dawson Brown is a good athlete. We played well. Just not good enough tonight."
