Confidence Learning Center hosted the 44th annual Golf Classic and 34th annual Fishing Classic on Friday, June 16, in the Brainerd area.
The John Beyer Memorial Award was given for a walking ambassador for the Golf Classic and Confidence Learning Center throughout the year. This years' award was given to The Crew of The Classic of Madden's Resort. Other awards included: the Ralph Klapperich Award given to the Volunteer of the Year - Bruce & Rebecca Sellnow and the Everett Lassig Award given to the Fishing Classic Ambassador of the year - J. R. Cooper.
The Classic event also hosted a live and silent auction as part of the Sertoman's Mariucci Fiesta.
"It is amazing to see the participants of everyone that comes back year after year; and to see so many new faces," said executive director Jeff Olson in a news release.
On Saturday morning boats launched for the 34th Annual Camp Fishing Classic from the Madden's Resort lagoon.

The Camp Classic event is held the third weekend in June every year, and is the largest in-house fundraiser hosted by Confidence Learning Center; which is an outdoor education/recreations center serving people of all ages with cognitive and physical disabilities.
Fishing Classic Awards
Awards are given in four divisions within the tournament based on a total of three fish per division; each team is listed with a guide and two participants (Each winning team is listed by guide first, then participants):
Mixed Bag Division (with one walleye, one bass and one northern)
First Place: Nate Berg, Rob Olson, Kim Olson; 9 lbs 14 oz
Second Place: John Stolski, Sherree Wicktor, Karen Bedell; 7 lbs
