ST. PAUL-Even before completing Brainerd's Lizzie Aydt won.
Aydt was selected as a member of the All-State Honor Team Friday and was one of six athletes to receive a $500 scholarship.
Then on Saturday she helped Brainerd to seventh place at the Minnesota State Cheer competition at the St. Paul RiverCentre.
Aydt competed with Lexi Groters, Emily Felsheim, Niki Atwater, Kaylee Sutton, Harley Timmons, Emily Nelson, Gallaya Karpeh, Courtney Weinrich and Cassie Davis in the 2A non-tumbling division.
Brainerd's junior varsity claimed top honors in the JV non-tumbling division. Team member are Olivia Killoran, Jasmine Townsend, Lily Hurlbert, Kaitlynn Capistrant, Allison Rudnick, Lindsay Carner, Ella Schmitz, Jalisa Jones, Zoey Labour, Kellie Allison and Rayah Unger.
