Cheer Team: Warriors compete at national event

The Brainerd Warriors cheer team finished 15th out of 35 teams in its first-ever appearance at the UCA National High School Championship Saturday, Feb. 9 in Orlando, Fla.

The Brainerd Warriors cheer team finished 15th out of 35 teams in its first-ever appearance at the UCA National High School Championship Saturday, Feb. 9 in Orlando, Fla.

Brainerd competed in the medium non-tumble division and advanced to the semifinals at the ESPN Wild World of Sports complex.

Competing for Brainerd were Kaylee Sutton, Rayah Unger, Zach Capistrant, Violet Goodwin, Kaitlynn Capistrant, Malia Hermerding, Lindsay Carner, Ella Schmitz, Breanna Frazer, Rachel Aydt, Amara Ruether, Jordan Koering, Savannah Roth and Amber Russell.

Carissa Ulness is the head coach and her assistants are Nicole Goodwin and Kassii Daiker.
