Cheer Team: Warriors finish 3rd at state

ST. PAUL--The Brainerd Warriors advanced to the finals of the medium non-tumble 2 division Saturday, Feb. 2 and finished third at the Minnesota State Cheer Competition at Roy Wilkins Auditorium.

ST. PAUL-The Brainerd Warriors advanced to the finals of the medium non-tumble 2 division Saturday, Feb. 2 and finished third at the Minnesota State Cheer Competition at Roy Wilkins Auditorium.

Competing on the varsity were: Kaylee Sutton, Rayah Unger, Zach Capistrant, Violet Goodwin, Kaitlynn Capistrant, Malia Hermerding, Lindsay Carner, Ella Schmitz, Breanna Fraser, Rachel Aydt, Amara Ruether, Jordan Koering, Savannah Roth and Amber Russell.

Brainerd's junior varsity placed fifth in the non-tumble division.

Team members were Bailey Schuler, Kjerstin Flansburg, Quinn Giles, Shayn Meyer, Anna Davis, Gabby Miller.

Brainerd's varsity will now compete in the UCA High School National Cheerleading Championship Saturday, Feb. 9 in Florida.

There will be one last local performance at halftime of the Brainerd Warriors girls basketball game Tuesday, Feb. 5. A send-off will be held at 9 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 6.
