ST. PAUL -- For the second season in a row, the Brainerd Warriors landed in the finals of the small coed non-tumble state tournament and finished second out of seven teams Saturday, Feb. 1, at Roy Wilkins Auditorium.

The Brainerd varsity also placed sixth in the varsity game day division. It’s the first year Brainerd competed in that division. There were 12 teams competing.

Brainerd earned the Sportsmanship Cup, given each year to a cheer team that promotes positive sportsmanship at their school as well as being role models to the student body.

The junior varsity team finished third in the JV non-tumble division.

Brainerd’s Zach Capistrant, Lauren Coralsky, Kaylee Sutton and Amber Russell all earned spots on the Minnesota All-State Team and performed at the state competition.
