ST. PAUL-St. Cloud Cathedral held off East Grand Forks for a 6-3 win Wednesday night at the Class 1A State Tournament.
St. Cloud scored twice in the first, second and third periods to seal the deal.
Hermantown 3, Luverne 2
ST. PAUL-Just 42 seconds into overtime, Hermantown's Dylan Kolquist scored the game-winning goal giving the Hawk's (27-1-1) a 3-2 victory against the Luverne Cardinals (22-6-1).
Averaging nearly six goals a game this season, the Hermantown Hawks put 52 shots on goal, but found the back of the net only twice in regulation in their Class A quarterfinal matchup against Luverne. Kolquist took a pass from Jesse Jacques alone in front of Cardinal goalkeeper, Kaden Ericson, and tucked the puck behind him for the win.

Luverne's Tyler Reisdorfer scored his second unassisted goal of the game to tie the game with 2:08 remaining in regulation. Ericson was great in net with 49 saves for Luverne. Ryan Sandelin and Tyler Watkins had the other Hawk goals in the game.
Northfield 3, Mahtomedi 1
ST. PAUL-In the second quarterfinal of the day, Northfield (21-5-3) skated past Mahtomedi 3-1.
The Zephyrs of Mahtomedi (16-12-1) scored first when Dallas Duckson scored four minutes into the game.
Northfield's Jacob Halvorsen tied the game at 7:57 of the second period when he took a centering pass from Noah Skillings and beat Zephyr goalie Bailey Huber.
Nicholas Kvernmo of Northfield scored the first of his two goals to break the 1-1 tie 1:04 into the third period. Kvernmo sealed it for the Raiders with an empty net goal.
Ryan Bielenberg made 34 saves in net for the Raiders.
Northfield will face Monticello/Annandale/Maple Lake at 11 a.m. Friday in the first 1A semifinal.

MAML 3, Delano 2
ST. PAUL-The unseeded Moose of Monticello/Annandale/Maple Lake edged second-seeded Delano 3-2 in the first Class 1A quarterfinal Wednesday.
The game-winning goal came on a power play at 15:08 of the second period from Moose sophomore Troy Dahlheimer. Senior Nick Zwack scored the other goals for MAML.
All three Moose goals came in the second period and they led 3-2 after two periods. Delano held the advantage in shots in every period and outshot the Moose 35-29 for the game. Tyler Klatt of the Moose made 33 saves.
