Clay Target: Patriots land 6 in top of conference

Pequot's Cooper Johnson finished fourth in Minnesota with a season average of 24.3.

Pequot Lakes’ Cooper Johnson placed fourth in the state and topped Conference 13 with a season average of 24.3 in the fall Minnesota Clay Target League.

Johnson dominated the conference surpassing the second-place shooter by .5 points.

Also landing in the top 10 of the conference for the Pequot boys was Bryce Fabian. His 22.6 average landed him in ninth.

Pequot Lakes’ Annika Wiczek posted the top female average for Conference 13 and Jessica Fabian was right behind her in second place for the fall trap shooting season.

Wiczek posted a season average of 23.10 and Fabian scored a 22.10. Also landing in the top 25 were Maddie Pettit with her 21.7 average. That was good for fifth place. Alaina Kinney was eighth with an 18.1 average.

On the boys’ side, Cooper Johnson finished fourth with a season average of 24.30.

Pequot’s team rostered 28 athletes this fall. The other Patriots were Dalton Atwater, Hailey Carlson, Brandon Conklin, Derek Fox, Thomas Franz, Landon Glazier, Christopher Hankins, Weston Hiles, Keean Kerger, Braydon Lane, Avery Larson, Chase Larson, Ethan Lundgren, Jonah Lundgren, Colten McGuire, Abigail Nelson, Cooper Nelson, Conner Peterson, Grady Roy, Caleb Runksmeier, Bryce Scully and Paige Strong.
