College Athletics: St. Olaf to induct Peterson

NORTHFIELD - Brainerd educator/coach Keith Peterson will be inducted into the St. Olaf College Athletics Hall of Fame Sept. 26.

Peterson was a 4-time letterwinner in baseball for the Oles. He was a 2-time All-MIAC selection and twice was named to the All-Midwest Region All-Tournament Team. He was voted an All-American his senior season. His Oles teams won two MIAC titles.

A 1984 graduate, Peterson compiled a 19-8 career record and 2.39 ERA. St. Olaf advanced to the NCAA Tournament in three of his four seasons.

He will be inducted with Craig Fitzsimmons 1979 (basketball), Brent Eilefson 1992 (hockey) and Nicole Trnka Hess 2002 (volleyball). Inductees will be honored at halftime of the St. Olaf-Concordia football game. They will be inducted at the Black and Gold Banquet in the ballroom in Buntrock Commons at 6 p.m. Sept. 26.
