TUCSON, Ariz.-Central Lakes College finished its spring trip with an 0-9 mark after dropping a doubleheader against Arizona Western Wednesday.

The Raiders were limited to two hits in the first game, a 14-0 defeat. Nik Gasner, who started and pitched four innings, took the loss. Gasner and Mike Tveitbakk had the only CLC hits.

Eric Kossan, Jacob Hyytinen and Devon Brown each had two hits in Game Two, an 8-6 loss. CLC trailed 8-1 until scoring twice in the sixth and three times in the seventh. Gasner and Brown doubled in the defeat.

"We finished the trip with not the record we wanted but played better each day against some very good teams that are NJCAA Division I and II teams," CLC coach Brian Voigt said. "The way we played Game Two vs. Arizona Western is the way we need to play the rest of the year with the energy we brought on the field and on the bench. If we can do that it will be a good season.

"There is a lot to look forward to with this bunch and there is already improvement being made."
