Morningside College's Nathan DeChaine, a sophomore third baseman from Brainerd, received honorable mention on the NAIA All-America Baseball Team this season.
DeChaine collected 74 hits in 204 at-bats for a .363 batting average with a team-high 17 doubles, 16 home runs, and 67 RBIs. He also topped the Mustangs with 141 total bases, 28 walks, and a .691 slugging percentage and ranked second on the team with 74 hits and 57 runs scored. His 16 home runs and 67 RBIs were the second-highest
single-season totals in Morningside history.
He went on a power surge to lead the Mustangs to three straight victories to win the Briar Cliff Bracket of the Great Plains Athletic Conference Postseason Tournament. DeChaine went 3-for-6 with two home runs, a season-high seven RBIs and three runs scored in a 17-10 opening-round victory against Mount Marty College.
He went 3-for-4 with two doubles and two runs scored in a 15-11 triumph against Hastings College in the winners' bracket final, and went 2-for-3 with two home runs, five RBIs, and two runs scored in a 9-4 victory against Briar Cliff in the championship game.

DeChaine was named to the All-GPAC First Team after he earned second-team honors as a freshman.
He has a .355 batting average with 28 doubles, two triples, 18 home runs, and 97 RBIs after his first two seasons at Morningside which finished 44-16 this season to set a school record for victories. Morningside competed in the Tabor Bracket of the
NAIA Baseball National Championship-its first national tourney appearance since it competed in the 1960 NAIA World Series.
