TUCSON, Ariz.-Nik Gasner went 2-for-3 with a triple and drove in five runs as the Central Lakes College Raiders were defeated 21-9 by Bismarck State in the second game of a doubleheader Sunday.
CLC's Brady Moulzolf and Alonzo Knowles were each 3-4. Eric Kossan and Mike Tveitbakk each added two hits to the Raiders' 15-hit attack. Jared Walters, who started and pitched four innings, took the loss as CLC dropped to 0-4 on its spring trip.
In Game One Sunday, Gasner and Blake Backowski each had two hits in CLC's 14-4 loss to Bismarck. Brendan Ehlers, who worked the first 4.1 innings, was the losing pitcher.
After a season-opening 11-0 loss to Itasca earlier Saturday, the Raiders lost Game Two 10-4 to the Illinois Institute of Technology junior varsity. Tveitbakk had two hits and drove in two runs. Jacob Hyytinen also had two hits for CLC. Knowles pitched the first five innings and took the loss.
