College Baseball: Raiders stumble in late innings against St. Cloud
Central Lakes Raiders hosted St. Cloud Technical Wednesday, April 28.
With a six-run rally in the seventh In Game One and a run in the eighth inning of Game Two, St. Cloud Technical and Community College outlasted the Central Lakes Raiders for an 8-5, 4-3 doubleheader sweep Wednesday, April 28, in Brainerd.
Preston Rocheleau suffered the Game One loss despite allowing just two earned runs on six hits and one walk. The Pierz High School graduate struck out five in 8.1 innings, but was the victim of eight CLC errors, which helped St. Cloud to a six-run ninth inning.
Gunnar Wicklund was 3-4 with two doubles and an RBI. Phillip Zynda was 2-5 with an RBI and Jack Suska was 2-4 with a run. Mason Argir drove in two runs for the Raiders.
Suska was 2-4 with two RBIs in Game Two, which saw the Raiders post two runs in the fifth and a run in the sixth to force extra innings.
Reese Kapsner drove in the other Raider run and scored a run. Nolan Notch was 1-3 with a run and Mason Argir hit a double.
Daevion King started the game and allowed three runs, two earned on seven hits and five walks. He struck out two.
Kyle Baker was tagged with the loss. He pitched 3.1 innings and allowed just one unearned run on one hit. He struck out two.
