ST. CLOUD — A two-run home run from Eli Roberts put the Central Lakes College Raiders up 6-2 and they weathered a three-run rally from Ridgewater in the top of the sixth inning to win 6-5 in the opening round of the Region 13 Tournament at St. Cloud Friday, May 13.
The Raiders recorded just six hits, but a double from Adam Braun in the bottom of the second inning scored Kyler Baker and Derin Gaudette and that tied the game at two.
A fly-out from Gaudette in the third inning scored Eli Roberts to make it 3-2 and a single from Noah Cekalla gave the Raiders a 4-2 lead.
Gaudette started on the mound and gave up the two early runs but finished with 10 strikeouts in seven innings of pitching. He allowed just five hits to get the win for the Raiders.
