A prolific offensive outing, combined with outstanding defense propelled Central Lakes College to a 51-0 win over Eastern Division foe Fond du Lac Saturday at Findorff Athletic Complex in Brainerd.

The win vaulted the Raiders to 5-0 overall and a 3-0 record in the Eastern Division. With just two games remaining against the division, CLC put itself in the driver's seat to earn home-field advantage for the first two rounds of the state playoffs.

Quarterback Mike Tveitbakk threw for three scores and finished 11-19 for 124 yards. Teddy Sherva gained 85 yards on 10 carries and a touchdown.

The defense put together a shutout with just 76 total yards gained from the Thunder. Just 14 yards came through the air. The defense improved it's points-per-game average to 14.2 and lowered its total yards per game to 248.

"Our defense played with an intensity and aggression that was really important," said Raiders head coach Greg Medeck. "We saw some good results in the first half of the season, but it didn't show on the scoreboard. That wasn't the case (Saturday) as with the shutout we saw those results."

The Raiders scored early in the first quarter on a 6-yard run from Teddy Sherva and then added to the lead with a 25-yard strike from Tveitbakk to Mustaful Strong.

Two more scores from the air followed in the second quarter with Daryl Waindim catching a f4-yard TD pass and Cody Rau gathering in a 19-yard throw.

"I am pretty pleased with Mike's (Tveittbakk) development," Medeck said. "He is a young quarterback with a lot of room for growth, but he his getting better. No interceptions the last two weeks and he is putting the ball in the right spots."

CLC put any thoughts of a second-half comeback to rest with a safety early in the third quarter. The offense followed with a touchdown drive culminating in a 45-yard dash from Sherva for a 37-0 lead.

Greg Lewis and Kejuon Burton each added rushing touchdowns for the final score.

The Raiders will now travel to Mesabi and Vermilion the next two Saturdays.

"A great attribute that this team has is that we have so many different people that can step up," said Medeck. "Teddy (Sherva) leads the conference in rushing, but only had 10 rushes Saturday and we were able to spread it out and from the receiving aspect we can throw it to a lot of guys."
