College Football: Hamline hires former Gophers QB coach

ST. PAUL--Former Minnesota Gophers quarterbacks coach Jim Zebrowski was named assistant head coach/offensive coordinator at Hamline University in St. Paul on Tuesday, the school said.

ST. PAUL-Former Minnesota Gophers quarterbacks coach Jim Zebrowski was named assistant head coach/offensive coordinator at Hamline University in St. Paul on Tuesday, the school said.

Zebrowski joins the staff of Chip Taylor, who was promoted from defensive coordinator to head coach when Chad Rogosheske became head coach at Capital University in Columbus, Ohio in March.

"Jim is a guy that knows offensive football as well as anybody," Taylor said in a statement. "We are thrilled to have him on our staff. Moreover, he has been a part of several successful Division III programs. He knows what it takes to be successful at this level."

After being fired by Gophers coach Tracy Claeys on Nov. 29, Zebrowski was passed over for Division III head coaching jobs at Wisconsin-Eau Claire in January and Wisconsin-La Crosse in February.

Before joining retired coach Jerry Kill and Claeys at Northern Illinois in 2010, Zebrowski was offensive coordinator at Wisconsin-Whitewater, where he helped win two Division III national titles and was footballscoop.com's Division III coordinator of the year in 2009.
