BOTTINEAU, N.D. - It was an impressive day offensively and defensively for the Central Lakes College Raiders as they dismantled Dakota College 50-0 in their season opener Saturday.

CLC quarterback Jake Faber threw for 321 yards and five touchdowns, four to wide receiver Kieran Johnson, while the Raiders' defense held Dakota College to zero passing yards. The Raiders outgained Dakota College by 546-52 in total yards.

The Faber to Johnson connection was potent as the two connected nine times for 216 yards. CLC's Carlton Djam rushed 15 times for 89 yards and scored a touchdown.

CLC's Will Kramer recorded three catches for 69 yards and a touchdown.

The Raider defense was dominant as it allowed just four first downs, sacked the quarterback four times and recovered two fumbles. Dakota College gained just 52 yards on 41 rushing attempts. The Raiders also scored a touchdown on a fumble recovery.

"It was a great way to start the season for our squad with a convincing win on the road at Dakota College," said CLC head coach Greg Medeck. "We had a complete defensive effort earning a shutout and not allowing a completed pass.

"Offensively, Faber picked up where he left off in 2014 throwing for five TDs. We are excited to see a lot of guys play very well and the get the season under way.

"We will definitely be looking forward to playing at home next weekend against Ridgewater which also won Saturday (20-13 over Mesabi Range). It should be a good one."
