BARTLESVILLE, Okla. - Emily Israelson and the Augustana women's golf qualified for the NCAA National Championships as a team for the seventh time in program history after winning the Central Region Championship shooting an 82-over-par 946 (316-314-316) in the 54-hole tournament. The Vikings finished seven strokes ahead of Arkansas Tech, which shot 89-over-par 953 (332-309-312 to finish second.
Augustana has won the Central Region Championship four times in program history. The Vikings won the Central Region Championship in 2009-10, 2010-11, 2011-12 and now in 2014-15.
Israelson, a Staples-Motley High School graduate, finished 11th overall with a 22-over-par 239. The freshman fired rounds of 80-79-79. She was one stroke out of the individual top 10.
Augustana will compete at the NCAA Championships May 13-16 at The Meadows in Allendale, Mich.

Israelson honored
BURNSVILLE-The Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference announced its women's golf postseason awards on Monday afternoon. Augustana's Sierra Langlie and Marisa Toivonen earned All-NSIC First Team honors. Emily Israelson and Jennifer Pederson were named All-NSIC Second Team.
Augustana women's golf won its sixth straight NSIC Championship after shooting a 132-over-par 1,284 (321-327-320-316) in the four-round tournament. For the fourth consecutive year, and fifth time in the last six years.
Israelson ranks third on the team with an 80.4 stroke average and has finished in the top 10 of four events, including three top five finishes. Israelson placed second overall at the NSIC Championships shooting a 31-over-par 319 (77-87-78-77). She has the seventh-best stroke average in the NSIC.
