MINNEAPOLIS - Brainerd High School graduate Nikki Anderson improved her record to 8-2 with an 8-0 win against Iowa in the second game of a doubleheader April 25.
The junior left-hander allowed just one hit in three innings of relief. She struck out four and threw 24 of 30 pitches for strikes.
On April 17, Anderson pitched 6.1 shutout innings, allowing just four baserunners, in a 7-1 win over Michigan State at East Lansing, Mich.
For the season, Anderson has a 3.67 ERA. In 21 appearances, six starts, she has two complete games and two saves. In 63 innings, she has allowed 82 hits with 11 walks and 44 strikeouts.
Minnesota, 41-8 overall, 15-3 and in second place in the Big Ten, travels to Wisconsin for a doubleheader beginning at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday. The doubleheader will be televised on the Big Ten Network.

The Gophers end the regular season at home against Purdue at 6 p.m. Friday, 1 p.m. Saturday and 1 p.m. Sunday.
