College Softball: Errors hamper Raiders on the road

The Central Lakes College Raiders played two road games Saturday, March 3.

ROCHESTER — Sarah Kossan swung a hot bat Saturday, March 3, but fielding errors prevented the Central Lakes College Raiders from collecting a win in a Crossover Tournament.

Kossan was 4-4 with a double, three RBIs and a run scored in a 10-8 Game Two loss to Anoka-Ramsey. Jenna Gratz was 3-4 with an RBI and run and Haley Youngbauer was 2-4 with two RBIs and two runs scored.

Cassidy Zontelli scored twice as she finished 2-4 with a double and Addie Sanford scored once and went 2-4 with a double.

Gratz suffered the loss. She allowed 10 runs, only six earned on six walks and six hits. She struck out six in seven innings.

In Game One, a 12-7 loss to Dakota Country, Youngbauer was 1-4 with a run and two RBIs. Kossan hit a double and finished 2-3 with an RBI and a run scored. She also walked twice. Zontelli was 2-4 with a run.

Sanford got the start and allowed 12 runs, just five earned, on 11 hits and three walks. She struck out eight over six innings of work.
