College Softball: Raiders drop 2 in Florida

CLERMONT, Fla. — Sarah Kossan went 4-6 on the day for the Central Lakes College Raiders, who lost 10-5 to Mercyhurst North East and then were shutout 17-0 by Jackson College Sunday, Mar. 8, on the second day of their eight-game Florida spring trip.

Against Mercyhurst, Kossan went 3-4 with a home run, double and two RBIs.

Haley Youngbauer also collected multiple hits and Brianna Meyer drove in three runs. Malaysia Gilster added a double.

Jordyn Sullivan was tagged with the loss. She gave up five hits and six runs (one earned) over 4.2 innings.

In the second game, Meyer, Sullivan and Kossan each singled once for the Raiders, who were outhit 15-3 in the loss to Jackson College.

Starter Abby Pelowski got the loss. She gave up 10 runs, all earned, and 11 hits over two innings.
