College Softball: Raiders split with Mesabi Range

VIRGINIA--Jenny Skoog and Faith Kassulker hit home runs as the Central Lakes College Raiders defeated the Mesabi Range Norse 6-4 in the first game of a Northern Division doubleheader Wednesday.

VIRGINIA-Jenny Skoog and Faith Kassulker hit home runs as the Central Lakes College Raiders defeated the Mesabi Range Norse 6-4 in the first game of a Northern Division doubleheader Wednesday.

Skoog hit a 2-run homer in the second and Kassulker ripped a solo shot in the third. Kassulker and Autumn Roberts each had two hits. Roberts pitched a complete game with five strikeouts and two walks. She allowed four earned runs and eight hits.

In the second game, the Norse snapped CLC's 9-game win streak by defeating the Raiders 18-13. Mickey Guenther finished 3-for-3 with an RBI for CLC. Losing pitcher Lacy Hiltner homered and contributed an RBI single.

Jordyn Crume, Roberts and Hannah Munsch each had two hits and Roberts and Munsch each drove in three runs for CLC which entered the doubleheader tied for the division lead with Mesabi and Itasca.
