College Softball: Raiders sweep behind clutch hitting

Raiders play a doubleheader against Northland Tuesday, April 21

THIEF RIVER FALLS — The Central Lakes College Raiders earned a sweep of Northland Tuesday, April 21.

In Game One, the Raiders won 6-4 in nine innings. Katie Johnson led off the top of the ninth with a double and scored when on a Haley Youngbauer single.

Youngbauer stole second and advanced to third on a wild pitch before a Jenna Gratz sacrifice fly scored Youngbauer.

Gratz picked up the win in nine innings as she pitched all nine innings and allowed three earned runs and struck out seven.

Four different Raiders picked up two hits including Johnson and Youngbauer.

In Game Two, Sarah Kossan went 4-5 with two doubles and four RBIs as the Raiders notched a 12-9 win.

Gratz went 2-5 with four runs scored. Sydnee Johnson tallied three RBIs as well.

Johnson went 2-4 with a triple.

Addie Sanford earned the win and pitched seven innings with eight strikeouts.
