Sophomore Cassidy Zontelli of the Central Lakes College Raiders was named the Minnesota College Athletic Conference North Division Player of the Week.
The shortstop played 26 innings of error-free defense and hit a game-tying RBI single in a win over St. Cloud Technical and Community College.
In 18 at-bats, the Brainerd High School graduate, collected 12 hits, one triple, and walked twice. She drove in 10 runs and stole four bases on four attempts.
Zontelli’s play helped CLC move to 4-9 overall and 2-2 in the North Division. The Raiders travel Wednesday, April 21, for a doubleheader against Northland in Thief River Falls.
In 13 games, Zontelli is batting .438 with a .591 on-base percentage and a .692 slugging percentage. In 39 at-bats, she has 21 hits, one double, one triple and one home run. She’s scored 16 runs with 14 RBIs. She’s walked four times and struck out just twice. She has five stolen bases.
