Whitney Weisz saved her best for last.

The senior for the San Diego State University women's swimming and diving team helped the Aztecs to third place in the Mountain West Championships Feb. 20.

On the final day of the four-day championship, Weisz swam a second-place time of 49.14 in the 100-yard freestyle. Her time landed her on the NCAA B cuts, which provisionally qualifies her for next month's NCAA championships.

Weisz's 49.14 is the third-fastest time in program history.

On the opening day of the championship, Weisz teamed with Natilee Ruiz, Martina Marks and Savannah Miller to finish third in the 800 freestyle with the program's sixth-fastest time of 7:13.74.

She swam a fifth-place 22.69 in the 50 free. The senior's time ties the fourth-fastest in program history.

Weisz opened the championship's third day by helping SDSU's 400 medley to fourth place with the program's fifth-fastest time of 3:38.86. She then posted the program's ninth-fastest 200 freestyle with her 10th-place 1:48.18.

The Aztecs placed third in the final team standings behind Nevada and Boise State.
