South Dakota State University's Vanessa Lane of Pequot Lakes was one of 12 athletes to receive a Jackrabbit Impact Award at the SDSU All-Sports Banquet Thursday.
Lane also earned a scholar-athlete award. She is currently ranked No. 1 in heptathlon in the Summit League Conference and 58th in the nation. She will compete The Summit League Outdoor Championships May 10-12 at Tulsa, Okla.
Jacobson wins shot
Hamline University senior and Pequot Lakes High School graduate Travis Jacobson threw the shot put 52 feet, ½-inch, to capture the event during the April 28 Drake Alternative meet at Gustavus Adolphus College in St. Peter.
