Central Lakes College sophomore Ashton Kapphahn was named the MCAC Northern Division Player of the Year Thursday.
The sophomore from Bertha-Hewitt also was named to the All-Northern Division first team with teammates Ashley Abear and Rachel Mathias.
CLC's Jenny Skoog made the second team.
The Raiders' Jane Peterson shared division coach of the year honors with JoJo Scott of Mesabi Range.
Through 28 matches, Kapphahn has recorded 98 kills, 836 set assists, 47 ace serves, 247 digs and 28 blocks. Abear has 12 set assists, seven ace serves and 332 digs. Mathias has 264 kills, nine set assists, 39 ace serves, 59 digs and 83 blocks. Skoog has 282 kills, 31 set assists, 38 ace serves, 232 digs and 38 blocks.

The Raiders (26-2), ranked third in NJCAA Division III, play in the national tournament at the UCR Regional Sports Center in Rochester, Minn., Nov. 13-14.
