Central Lakes College Raiders Kahlen Manthey and Paige Wallevand were named MCAC Northern Division Players of the Week for Week 1.

Manthey, a sophomore libero from Sauk Rapids, was the defensive player of the week. CLC started the 2017 season ranked fourth in NJCAA Division III and Manthey recorded 10 aces and 37 digs, helping the Raiders go 3-1. CLC beat Ellsworth 3-1, Lake Region State 3-1 and Riverland 3-0. The only blemish on their start was a 3-0 setback to No. 2-ranked Ridgewater. Manthey sits ninth in the country in service aces with 10.

Wallevand, a sophomore from Henning, was the all-around player of the week. Wallevand tossed out 52 assists and registered 29 kills, to go with eight aces and 12 digs in CLC's 3-1 opening week.

The Raiders host St. Cloud Technical College at 4 p.m. and North Dakota State College of Science at 7 p.m. Friday.
