Central Lakes College sophomore Rachel Mathias was named the MCAC Northern Division hitter of the week ending Aug. 27.
The 6-1 sophomore from Heron Lake, a second team All-MCAC pick as a freshman, opened the season with 52 kills (4.0) and a .408 attack percentage for the third-ranked Raiders. Mathias added 11 blocks (.85) as the Raiders opened the season winning three of four matches.
