Rachel Mathias of the Central Lakes College Raiders was named the MCAC Northern Division All-Around Player of the Week ending Oct. 29.
The 6-foot-1 sophomore from Heron Lake had another big week for the North champion Raiders (19-11 overall, 13-1 North) as she racked up 32 kills (4.57 average per set) while hitting .400. In addition Mathias had 15 blocks (2.14) and 4 digs.
The honor was Mathias' fifth of the season. She was hitter of the week four times earlier this season.
CLC hosts the Region 13B tournament this weekend. In Friday's semifinals, the top-seeded Raiders play Mesabi Range at 6 p.m. No. 3 Itasca meets No. 2 Rainy River at 8 p.m. Winners play for the region championship at noon Saturday.
