MAPLE GROVE-A fifth and an eighth place finish is what the Brainerd Warriors hauled out of Sunday's Crimson Cheer Challenge at Maple Grove.
Brainerd's small varsity non-tumbling team finished fifth. Team members were Macy Kramer, Kate Smith, Kate Coffman, Vanessa Hines, Niki Atwater, Lizzy Aydt, Lexi Groters, Cearra Deason, Emily Nelson and Alyssa Haglin.
The Warriors stunt division finished eighth with Kramer, Smith, Coffman and Groters comprising that squad.
Brainerd's junior varsity non-tumbling team placed second. Team members were: Emily Felsheim, Kaylee Sutton, Cassie Davis, Courtney Weinrich, Ella Schmitz, Gallaya Karpen, Harlee Timmons, Jalisa Jones, Jasmine Townsend, Kaitlynn Capistrant, Lily Hurlbert, Mariah Karkhoff and Olivia Killoran.
Brainerd's next competition will be the state cheer competition Saturday at Roy Wilkins Auditorium in St. Paul.
