NEW LONDON — Freshman Kyanna Burton and sophomore Aften Robinson finished third and fourth out of 152 runners and led the Staples-Motley Cardinals to the Section 6-1A title Thursday, Oct. 15.

It was the third straight title for the Cardinals who scored 37 team points.

Auddrey Brownell and Ashley Robben also cracked the top 10 finishing seventh and ninth. Naila Mikhaeil finished 14th to complete S-M’s scoring.

Carrisa Andres finished 25th to lead the Pierz Pioneers who claimed eighth place in a tie-breaker with Holdingford.

Pillager finished 19th and was led by Emma Reader who placed 53rd.
