With 3 rank points, Aitkin captured the Mid-State Conference kick title at Crosby-Ironton High School Friday, Dec. 7.
C-I finished second with Detroit Lakes in third. Pierz placed fourth followed by Pequot Lakes in fifth and Pine River-Backus sixth.
Aitkin collected 342 points out of 500. C-I scored a 318. Pierz posted a 278 followed by Pequot's 273 and 210 for PRB.
Pequot's junior varsity finished first in that division. C-I was second followed by Detroit Lakes third, Aitkin black fourth, Pierz fifth and Aitkin red sixth.
"Our varsity kick performance was amazing," said C-I head coach Amy Lundgren. "The energy level and kicks were the highest thus far. Unfortunately, we had a dancer fall which was a five-point deduction from the judges. There was a great recovery after and we finished strong.

"We are so proud of all the dancers for performing so well in front of the home crowd. We appreciated the huge fan support as it pumps up the team."
