"The team really rallied to try to come back stronger in the evening and we felt we did. We felt we kept our kicks higher and increased energy level. Our formations all really hit, especially our long kick line which is a tough one.

"We were fourth in both the afternoon and evening and felt that is where we should have ended up. We were so proud of our team and how excited they were to be a part of this.

"Eastview did it again with an amazing performance. Their caliber of athletes is simply amazing. I felt Wayzata was so fabulous too. Lakeville North had great kicks and skills and performed well."

Brainerd's Avery Davidge and Chole Hollen made the all-tournament team.

Davidge is one of the Warriors' senior captains.

"I'm so proud of our team this year," Davidge said. "Going into state we were feeling confident and excited to see what we could bring to the table and I couldn't have asked for more with how we performed in both kick and jazz. As a senior, this will definitely be a memorable experience and an unforgettable team. I am truly grateful."

After we made it to finals, we knew we had met our goal and any place better than sixth would be the icing on the cake. Fourth in the state is a huge accomplishment and I could not be more proud to lead this team and have the outcome we received."
