The Minnesota Flag Football League is preparing for its inaugural season in the Brainerd lakes area.

The MFFL will be offering an adult, co-ed flag football league with a hopeful beginning of play in April 2019.

The league will be open to anyone over the age of 18. There are no tryouts and all skill levels are welcome. The league is designed for fun, comradery and exercise.

Games will be scheduled on Saturdays starting in April and extending through June. Games will be played in Northeast Brainerd.

The timing and amount of games played will be determined by the number of players registered.

Interested parties can sign up as an individual and be placed on a team or you can sign up an entire team. For those interested in signing up as a team, teams consist of seven to 14 players as all games will be 7 on 7.

The MFFL is a non-profit organization. The dues required to play will cover field rental, referee fees, equipment, insurance and team jerseys.

At the moment, the estimated cost per player will be between $40 and $60. This is subject to change, depending on the number of participants. Due to the non-profit status of this organization, the cost of the season will be split between all players. Without knowing how many players to expect, there is no way to determine the exact cost at this time.

The more players that sign up, the cheaper the cost will be, so bring your friends. The league is excited to kick off its first season of flag football, and is looking forward to continuing to host for years to come.
