The Brainerd Warriors junior varsity remained unbeaten with a 28-18 win against Sauk Rapids Monday.
Brainerd trailed 12-0 to start the game. The Warriors tied it 12-12 with a TD scamper of 64 yards by Brett Besenfelder and an Owen Davis 4-yard TD run.
The Warriors took the lead for good on a 42-yard Ben Staehling TD run, followed by a Besenfelder 2-point conversion run. Staehling capped the scoring with a 4-yard run again followed by a Besenfelder run for two points.
The Warriors limited Sauk Rapids to 180 total yards with Staehling intercepting two passes and Luke Meyer recovering a fumble.
Brainerd (4-0) travels to Bemidji next Monday.
