FERGUS FALLS-It was a bittersweet night for Brainerd Warriors senior Kylee Heurung.
The forward scored 20 points Friday to become the school's all-time leading scorer, but the Warriors fell to Fergus Falls 67-49.
Heurung surpassed 1993 graduate Margit Rinke, who held the previous record of 1,750 points. Heurung needed 13 points to become the leading scorer. She added 10 rebounds and two steals in the loss.
"Congratulations to Kylee who became the all-time leading scorer in school history tonight," Brainerd head coach Troy Nelson said. "We are proud of her for all of the hard work it took to reach this milestone."
The Warriors shot just 35 percent from the field and were outrebounded 37-29. Hanna Degen tallied nine points for the Warriors, who fell to 6-3 in the Central Lake Conference.

"We did not show up with the desire and energy to compete tonight," said Nelson. "We got beat in every facet of the game. Hopefully we can show up tomorrow ready to play and try to turn it around."
