SARTELL - Kylee Heurung scored 28 points to go with 14 rebounds and two assists, but the Brainerd Warriors couldn't stop Sartell's Kendra Raths leading to a 71-67 Central Lakes Conference loss Tuesday in overtime.
Raths tallied 32 points for the Sabres, including seven in the extra frame.
"We played with great effort again tonight," said Brainerd head coach Troy Nelson. "Kylee jump started us by hitting three 3s early against their zone. We did a lot of good things and had a chance to win the game in regulation. Sartell made a couple of big shots late to force overtime and to win the game. I didn't do a good job having the right defensive plan tonight and that along with turnovers hurt us. The girls continue doing a good job preparing to win in practice and I think we are making progress in becoming the team we can be."
Jenna Degen posted 13 points. Katy Johnson tallied nine points and nine rebounds and Amy Southard also scored nine points for Brainerd.
