BEMIDJI - Katy Johnson's 16 points and 16 rebounds powered the Brainerd Warriors to a 64-53 victory over the Bemidji Lumberjacks Tuesday
Kylee Heurung added 21 points and 11 boards as Brainerd outrebounded Bemidji 58-41.
"This was a big section win for the girls," said Brainerd head coach Troy Nelson. "We did a good job of playing together and brought great energy again. Bemidji came out and shot the ball extremely well from the 3-point line in the first half. We did a better job of getting to their shooters in the second half. We kept battling the whole game and did an awesome job on the boards, which I thought was a key to the win."
Jenna Degen and Tedi Ramberg each tallied eight points and Ramberg added 10 rebounds.
Brainerd destroyed Bemidji 70-40 Jan. 15 in Brainerd.
