Girls Basketball: Warriors escape Apollo with win
ST. CLOUD--Lexi Roby hit a 3-pointer at the buzzer to force overtime and then scored five points in the extra frame to lead Brainerd to a 57-54 Central Lakes Conference win over the St. Cloud Apollo Eagles Friday.

Roby finished with 17 points, 15 coming in the second half and overtime, and seven rebounds and five assists. Kylee Heurung led the Warriors with 19 points, 13 rebounds and three steals. She hit 4-of-5 from the line despite Brainerd hitting just 48 percent from the line (11-of-23)
"Well, we won a game that we probably shouldn't have tonight," said Warriors head coach Troy Nelson. "The girls responded after shooting 5 for 31 in the first half and battled the entire game even though shots were not falling."
Brainerd's defense held Apollo to 33 percent shooting from the field and forced 18 turnovers.
