Girls Basketball: Warriors rally for third straight victory

Kylee Heurung tallied 26 points and 12 rebounds during the Brainerd Warriors' 62-49 Central Lakes Conference win over the Fergus Falls Otters Thursday.

Heurung sank 11 of 12 free throws. Cara Helgeson was 6-for-9 from the field and added 12 points for the Warriors who have won three straight.

Brainerd, which won at Fergus 48-44 Dec. 8, ended the Otters' 5-game win streak

"Fergus was on fire in the first half and we played from behind for a large part of the game," said Warriors coach Troy Nelson. "We made a few adjustments and the girls picked up their intensity to propel us to a 16-point run.

"Hopefully we can keep up our energy and stay on this winning streak next week."
