Girls Basketball: Warriors silence the Thunder

Lexi Roby registered 21 points to lead the Brainerd Warriors to an 81-41 non-conference victory over the Zimmerman Thunder Friday at Brainerd High School.

Lexi Roby registered 21 points to lead the Brainerd Warriors to an 81-41 non-conference victory over the Zimmerman Thunder Friday at Brainerd High School.

Lillee Hardee added 18 points for the Warriors. Regen McElfresh collected 14 points, four assists and three steals. Cara Helgeson grabbed eight rebounds for the Warriors.

"It was a great team win tonight," said Warrior head coach Troy Nelson.

"We shot lights out for the game and passed the ball well, resulting in 20 assists on 29 makes. We came out after half and played really good defense. It was nice to be able to play a lot of girls tonight."

Brainerd hit on 54.7 percent of its field goals (29 of 53) and were 13 of 18 from the line.
