Girls' golf

DEERWOOD -- The Staples-Motley Cardinals, led by senior Dana Hasselberg, continued their dominance on the high school girls golf scene with another win at the Ranger Invitational at the Cuyuna Country Club Monday.
Hasselberg shot an 84 to take medalist honors and her sister Mary Hasselberg shot a 91 to land fourth place. Teammate Melanie Wilson was 8th with a 96 and S-M combined for a team total of 369.
Amy Gaviglio led Crosby-Ironton to a second-place finish with her 88. Samantha Welle and Kelly Uglem cracked the top eight with their rounds of 93 and 95.
Pequot Lakes took seventh with Liz Meschke's 88 leading the way.

HOWARD LAKE -- The Pierz Pioneers placed first at the Central Minnesota Conference meet scoring 201 on Monday.
Amber Sitzman led the Pioneers with a 46.
