Girls Golf: Warriors land 4 on top of leaderboard

PARK RAPIDS — With four players in the top seven, the Brainerd Warriors placed second Friday, May 14, in the Section 8-3A Presection meet at Headwaters Golf Course.

Anna Krieger led the Warriors with a fourth-place 80. She was followed by Anna Angland’s fifth-place 82 and 83s from Izzy Olson and Katie Foley for Brainerd’s 328.

The Warriors lost only to Alexandria and individual medalist Hannah Boraas. The Cardinals posted a team score of 318.

Krieger opened her round with a front-nine 37 thanks to birdies on holes 4 and 9. Two more birdies on the back nine kept her in contention as she struggled on the back nine with a 43.

Anna Angland birdied holes 9 and 18 to fire nines of 40-42 for her best finish of the season.


Olson and Foley both birdied the fourth hole and even shot matching nines of 41-42 to tie for sixth.

Sophia Karsnia shot an 89 for 15th place.
