Girls Soccer: Smith, Warriors defeat unbeaten Apollo 4-0

ST. CLOUD - Ally Smith netted Brainerd's first two goals leading the Warriors to a 4-0 victory over the St. Cloud Apollo Eagles in a Central Lakes Conference match Friday afternoon.

ST. CLOUD - Ally Smith netted Brainerd's first two goals leading the Warriors to a 4-0 victory over the St. Cloud Apollo Eagles in a Central Lakes Conference match Friday afternoon.

The Eagles entered the contest undefeated at 2-0 overall, 1-0 in the CLC.

It was the second day in a row that the Brainerd goalkeepers turned in a clean sheet. Warrior goalie Megan Tschida rejected the only shot she faced as the Brainerd defense allowed just one shot on goal after allowing none the day before in a 15-0 win over Rocori.

Smith's first score assisted by Haylie Beavers put the Warriors up 1-0 at the intermission and she found the back of the net again at 10:20 of the second with an assist going to Bryn Waters.

Maddie Ellingson assisted by Kate Campion put Brainerd up 3-0 and Waters wrapped up the scoring with a Lexi Roby assisted goal at 29-35.

The Warriors outshot Apollo 20-1 and raised their conference record to 2-0, 2-1 overall.
