ST. CLOUD - Ally Smith notched a hat trick and Brainerd didn't allow St. Cloud Tech to get off a shot in a 6-0 victory Friday night at St. Cloud State's Husky Stadium that gave the Warriors their second straight Central Lakes Conference championship.

"It was not only the defense, but the whole team didn't let them get a shot off," said Brainerd coach Grant Gmeinder. "We had the ball on offense and on their end of the field so much that they just didn't get a chance to get a shot."

Haley Beavers recorded two goals and an assist. Angela Lacy scored the other Warrior goal.

The Warriors outshot the Tigers 15-0.

Brainerd has won 14 in a row since a season-opening 4-0 loss to Section 8-2A rival Rogers.

"It was good to see the girls not take this game lightly as we move toward the playoffs," said Gmeinder. "We didn't start great, but then they really turned it on as they got into it. "It's good to see them playing so well now."

The Warriors have one regular season game remaining. They host Sartell, which is second in the CLC. Sartell has two conference losses, including a 3-2 loss to Brainerd Sept. 10.

"Sartell will be a good test for us before the (Section 8-2A) playoffs," Gmeinder said. "They're ranked pretty high in single A."
