Girls Swimming and Diving: Flyers set school record

ALEXANDRIA -- Rachel Josephson, Lindy Wellinski, Layla Waltman and Ella Rausch set a new Little Falls Flyers school record in the 400 freestyle relay finishing in third-place with a time of 3:44.45 in the Section 6-1A prelims Thursday, Nov. 7.

The previous Flyers record was earned in 2008 by the relay team of Whitney Weisz, Megan Voss, Carlee Davich and Molly Binger with a time of 3:44.51.

Little Falls’ Josephson, Wellinski and Rausch each advanced to the championship finals in the 100 freestyle, 200 and 400 freestyle relays.

Rausch also qualified for the 200 freestyle, Josephson and Wellinski advanced to the 50 freestyle finals.

The Staples-Motley Cardinals finished in 10th in the 200 medley relay and 11th overall in the 400 freestyle relay.


The Cardinals and Flyers will participate in the Diving Prelims on Saturday, Nov. 9, at 12:15 p.m. Swimming and Diving finals to follow at 3 p.m.
