LITTLE FALLS — Little Falls’ Emma Gustafson and Ella Rausch won the diving and 100-yard freestyle titles respectively following the Granite Ridge Conference Championships that ended in a trio of dual meets Tuesday, Oct. 13.
Gustafson compiled 348.20 points to win the diving championship which was held Monday night at the St. Cloud State University pool. The score was a personal best for the Flyer senior who took second at the conference meet last year.
Rausch, a sophomore, posted a 57.63 in the Flyer pool against Albany, fast enough to give her the GRC title ahead of Foley’s Ellie Piepgras who swam a 58.25.
The Flyers swam against Albany while Foley hosted Milaca and St. Cloud Cathedral hosted Mora-Ogilvie in the other conference meets. The results of all three meets were combined to determine the final standings.
Rausch swam a 27.03 for the fastest time in the 50 freestyle at the Little Falls pool which placed her fourth in the final standings.
The Flyer 400 free relay team of Rausch, Kendra Couture, Layla Waltman and Lindy Welinski had the fastest pool time at Little Falls with a 3:58.14 and finished third.
Little Falls next competes with Holdingford at Morris in one of three meets for the Section championship Saturday, Oct. 24.
