GRAND FORKS-Brainerd's Britney Fletcher captured the North Subsection 8-2A singles title, while teammates Taya Person and Heidi Jacobson won the doubles title Saturday, Oct. 6 at Choice Health and Fitness.

"We had an outstanding day of tennis," said Warriors head coach Lisa Salo, "Britney and Kate (Kurtzman) met in the semifinals. We knew this would happen as we have always said that our toughest competition is within our own team."

"Taya and Heidi had a great day of tennis as well," Salo said, "In the finals, they needed to rebound after dropping the second set. They regrouped and earned that championship title."

Fletcher dispatched Bemidji's Savannah Haugen 6-4, 2-6, 7-6 to win the singles title. Kurtzman rebounded with a 6-1, 6-0 throttling of Theif River Falls' Emma Fagerstrom.
