GRAND FORKS, N.D. -- Kate Chaussee and Ella Chaussee both battled back after trailing in their first set to pick up straight set victories and help the No. 1 seeded Brainerd Warriors top No. 4 Moorhead 5-2 in the North Subsection 8-2A Team Tournament Thursday, Oct. 3.

Kate Chaussee downed Azylen Lunak 7-5, 6-2 at No. 2 singles. Ella Chaussee posted a 7-5, 6-3 win at No. 4 singles.
Kate Kurtzman grabbed Brainerd’s other singles win.
The No. 2 doubles team of Addie Sanford-Chloe Pecarich won 6-4, 6-2 and Catherin Moraghan and Peyton McConkey won at No. 3 doubles.
The victory advances Brainerd into the Section 8-2A semifinals
“Every one of our athletes showed resilience,” Warriors head coach Lisa Salo said. “Our singles players had to work through some strategy adjustments and adaptations, which they did very well. We are proud of everyone’s efforts.”
The No. 2 seeded Bemidji Lumberjacks eliminated No. 7 Little Falls 7-0 in the quarterfinals Thursday. Beth Ahlin racked up seven game points in her No. 3 singles loss.
